DO YOU SOMETIMES SAY ‘YES’ WHEN YOU REALLY WANTED TO SAY ‘NO’? ARE YOU UNABLE TO TELL SOMEONE THAT YOU ARE UNHAPPY WITH A SITUATION?

Finding the right balance

Drawing power from self-assurance

By learning how to be more assertive, you can stand up for yourself and become a strong and confident communicator. Aggressive behaviour is based on winning, passive is based on losing, but assertiveness is all about balance. And this balance will benefit you by:

  • Reducing your stress and anger
  • Improving your communication
  • Boosting your self-esteem

Are you in a management position and looking for ways to get things done? Do you negotiate often and struggle to find “win-win” solutions? Have you felt victimised or threatened when things are not going your way?

You may need to develop your assertive communication skills. Being assertive has many benefits and helps you get respect from others and build higher self-esteem.
